Have you noticed the many bumblebees on our site?
“What’s all the buzz about the bumblebee at The Sales Company?,” you ask.
Have you ever heard the story that bumblebees shouldn’t be able to fly due to their large bodies and small wings and the ratio of each? The choice to make the bumblebee our company mascot has little to do with the idea of persistence or amazing aerodynamic audacity and more to do with what we feel the bumblebee stands for and offers to the world.
You see, the bumblebee is a wonderful, diligent worker – just like sales professionals. They are the buzz, the energy, the connectors of the plant kingdom. They buzz from flower to flower, plant to plant, doing what they do most naturally and in the process they leave each plant changed and better than it was before.
Great sales professionals do the same thing. They buzz from person to person, connecting people, companies and resources, so that all are better than they were before the sales professional showed up. They are the great cross-pollinators of the business world!
The little bumblebee is great at what s/he does. The bumblebee knows that little by little all that pollen adds up to a bounty for the hive. The bumblebee, like a great sales professional, knows that a daily focus on the task at hand is what matters in the end.
They do their business here, they do their business there and when they are done everyone is a whole lot happier – that’s why the bumblebee is our mascot. This is how we know sales can be for everyone who wants to do what they do best, helping others do what they do best, and leaving the world a little bit better for having been in it. It’s a win-win-win and, we feel, the only way to do sales!
